The Greek America Foundation is proud to partner with METAdrasi on the Greek island of Chios for our 2019 Summer Service Learning Program which aims to engage North American college students and young professionals in volunteer programs in Greece.
Our 2019 program includes a month-long experience volunteering with vulnerable groups, including refugee children and unaccompanied minors, in a structured environment and in partnership with a respected Greek non-profit organization with years of experience in this field.
Sixteen scholarships will be offered to young people to participate in this program which cover lodging, program expenses including cultural excursions on weekends, transportation within Chios and most meals.
Five additional spots are available for students who are selected to participate but do not require the financial assistance of a scholarship.
The scholarships, valued at approximately $50,000, have been made by generous donors and supporters of the Greek America Foundation who share our vision and ideals of instilling a sense of volunteerism and service in young people.
The program is limited to North American college students and young professionals, aged 18-25. Greek heritage is not a requirement but a passion for service, volunteerism and working with young people from various cultural backgrounds is.
